John Giles said ( about Climate Action ) : “I’m an advocate for electric vehicles—it’s a better technology and this is one of many steps we can take to bring us closer to our Climate Action Plan goals,” External link

Peter Burke said ( about Climate Action ) : “Just Transition is integral to the Government’s Climate Action Plan, and we are committed to supporting those communities who are transitioning to a low carbon economy. It is recognised that these power plants made a significant contribution to the rates income of Longford and Offaly County Councils, and the serious impact their closure has had on both counties. The Government is committed to providing some funding certainty at this time, and the allocation is to provide support and mitigate the losses in these local economies” External link

Christina Rose says ( about Climate Action ) : "Climate Action Tracker ranks New Zealand’s climate policies as ‘highly insufficient’. Despite her ‘nuclear-free moment’ pledge and even after four years in charge, Ardern’s Government continues to fall lower in the rankings. The climate crisis has enough hot air already, and we’re seeing it in the form of more frequent and intense droughts, floods and fires," External link

Colin Hunt said ( about Climate Action ) : "The time for definitive climate action is now. Sustainability is a key strategic priority for AIB and we are committed to playing a significant role in helping the Government and European Union meet their carbon reduction targets. The doubling of our Climate Action Fund is further evidence of this. There is clear demand for green products and services, and broad public support behind the drive to limit global warming. Our own research shows 57% of people think Irish businesses should help them make environmentally friendly choices. At AIB we are supporting the drive towards decarbonisation by accelerating the rollout of products and services that assist our customers transitioning to a low carbon future.'' AIB has undertaken a number of initiatives in recent years to help the bank further improve its tracking of what counts as " External link

Marcia L Fudge said ( about Climate Action ) : "With the Climate Adaptation Plan, HUD is taking an agency-wide approach in prioritizing climate resilience because we cannot put America on the path to building a stronger and more sustainable housing infrastructure without addressing the impacts of climate change," External link

Director General said ( about Climate Action ) : “Despite a 22% (4,426 units) decline in total new car registrations for the month of September, the electric vehicle segment has seen an increase of 18% (775 units) when compared to the same month last year. "With an annual growth rate of 117%, the upward trend in Electric Vehicles is hugely positive, but would not have been achieved without the availability of the generous Government incentives. "In this context, SIMI is calling on the Irish Government to provide certainty and support for consumers by showing its support for the EV project. Any proposals to increase Vehicle Registration Tax on low emitting cars or to withdraw Electric Vehicle supports would only serve to have a detrimental effect reducing carbon emissions," Mr Cooke said. SIMI says with both the detail of the Climate Action Plan and Budget 2022 imminent, now is the time for Government to show leadership and help motorists make the best possible choices. "This means for Budget 2022, no increases in VRT, the extension of both the EV Grant system and 0% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) beyond the current expiry dates and, in conjunction with private enterprise, investment in a national charging infrastructure," Mr Cooke said. "As we start on the road to zero emissions transport, increasing taxes makes no sense and penalises those who want to make better environmental choices. The EV numbers this year speak for themselves; the Industry has supplied the cars and the Government has provided the incentives, thus allowing consumers to make strong environmental choices. "By keeping on this pathway, we can continue to provide the retail environment to help drive down emissions,” External link
