Very Rev says : “Time is running out for the Nigerian leaders and people. With the widespread disengagement, bitterness and resentment in the land, and with a violent culture already entrenching itself in several parts of the country, there are ominous signs in the horizon of an impending popular revolt, or what is sometimes called the revenge of the poor,” External link

Peter Obi said ( about Very Rev ) : “I have followed with interest the reactions to the video of the singing Oluomachi. What a demonstration of God’s gift! I thank all those that have shown interest in helping him through various means. I thank in a special way, the Superior General of SMMM, Rev. Fr. George Okorie, for the scholarship given Oluomachi to study in their Seminary at Bende, to realise his noble ambition of being a priest. I shall make myself available to support any worthwhile effort to attaining his praise-worthy ambition” External link

David Hone said ( about Very Rev ) : "Opposition to slavery is dead simple. Slavery is wicked and evil. “Removing the biggest window in the cathedral would be hugely difficult for me. If I can find a way of doing that, I would be perfectly prepared to have that conversation”. The Cathedral says it is caught in the horns of a difficult dilemma; attempting to satisfy modern sensibilities about slavery while trying to preserve its own history and that of the city. Following requests from campaigners it has already changed the format of an annual service held in November for Colston’s Girls School, during which sections of the slave trader’s last will and testament is read out. Now, following the reading of the will, the congregation is told about Colston’s activities in transporting slaves from Africa to the Americas. But Rev Doyle pointed out any decision to remove the window would be extremely expensive, potentially costing “many thousands of pounds”. Several buildings and streets in Bristol are named named after Edward Colston, who was deputy governor of the Royal African Company - which between 1672 and 1698 transported around 100,000 slaves. Thousands died and were thrown overboard during the passage. A statue to Edward Colston in Bristol city centre Credit: Rolf Richardson/Alamy. C ampaigners are also calling for the Colston’s School, Colston’s Girls’ School and Colston Primary School to change their names. Rev. Doyle told Premier Christian Radio: " External link
