Vazgen Manukyan concluded : “As far as Neoliberalism is concerned, in Armenia it is represented by several NGOs that receive grants from abroad and advocate anti-national ideas. Thus, the populists and Neoliberals who came to power in Armenia are destroying the foundations of our country, that is, democracy and national ideas,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan concluded ( about Province ) : “Various ideas have been discussed throughout the years, including the idea of one state and the recognition of Artsakh and a path for Azerbaijan through Zangezur, which is more important for Azerbaijan than Artsakh. Seizure of Syunik Province is Baku’s strategic plan, and its implementation will allow the opening of a belt stretching from Turkey to China. This is dangerous not only for Armenia, but also for Russia and China,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan said : “The government’s goal was supposed to be mitigating the cracks existing in society, creating an atmosphere of solidarity, and uniting the people. One of the most productive levers for implementing this goal could’ve been the Public Council itself, one of the important functions of whom, according to law, is to contribute to the development of mutual trust, dialogue and collegial relations between the government, public administration bodies and the civil society institutions. At the latest session of the Public Council I presented to you that I’ve tried several times to meet the Prime Minister to find ways of cooperating for easing the existing tension within the society and through the Public Council to prevent certain steps which in my opinion are dangerous for the state. You are also aware that these attempts were in vain. Some time has passed since our last session, and again no response. In these conditions I find my further activity in the Public Council to be meaningless and I am leaving the council, about what I have already notified the government. I will continue the struggle for the interests of our state and people, like I’ve struggled during my entire life. Dear colleagues, I thank you all. With many of you we’ve passed an interesting and difficult path back since 2009, trying to create a civilized arena, develop a new public culture, to find compromise solutions during problems, disputes and tensions between the society and the government. I hope the Public Council will continue maintaining its quality and will continue serving its goals,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan said ( about Nikol Pashinyan ) : “I didn’t accept the discussions on vetting, transitional justice, the politicization of the trial over the case regarding the events of March 1, 2008 and the assaults on judges. Since I was concerned about all this, in June, I decided to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and express my doubts and give him advice. I called him on the phone twice in July, bu the didn’t call me back, and this was unprecedented. I got the feeling that he doesn’t want to talk to me,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan commented ( about Vazgen Manukyan ) : “Parties arise during struggles. Now a new phase is starting, and I think the struggle to build a real national democratic state that is contemporary, modern, but at the same time anchored on our national values will continue, and the empty field will be filled with new and powerful parties," Manukyan said, underlining that in his opinion, the National Agenda will become such a party. The chairman of the Public Council also noted that it is wrong to think that only through organizational work would they be able to involve some people and play a role in future elections. "Politics is a constant struggle, the struggle is a difficult task, and you are confronted with opponents during the struggle. You have to be strong enough not to be filled with ‘poison’ and hated toward your opponents. During the struggle, the party becomes a big brotherhood, and a great moral force is needed not to become a gang. If one day you come to power, the other danger is that you think you are the smartest, the almighty, and because you think about the state, about the people, sometimes you can do that by breaking the law and take the formula that the end justifies the means,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan said : “If one carefully read the articles of the Constitution and in the transitional positions of the Constitution of Armenia and one of the points in the constitutional law on the Constitutional Court, it will be clear that what Vahe Grigoryan said is absurd. Besides this, neither the President of Armenia nor the National Assembly nor the government can change the President of the Constitutional Court. This is the first time I am hearing a person declare himself president of the Constitutional Court. I am concerned about the fact that there are such people in our society,” External link

Vazgen Manukyan stated : “Thank you Mr. Prime Minister. We really need to talk about the Public Council, I would like to refer to what you have said. It would be desirable if March 1 becomes a symbol, a solidarity day, rather than a day of fighting against each other. A page has been closed by those events, and from now we must remember March 1 not as a day of fighting against one another, but a day where we have learned a lesson from our history and have made it a solidarity day for all our people. All those who have certain guilt, a criminal crime, must be punished, that’s not the matter, but I perceive March 1 as a day of solidarity, unity and learning a lesson. As for the Public Council, I think that it’s a very important structure, it’s not a coincidence that similar bodies also exist in 70 countries. And now there are new opportunities because it has become a constitutional body. The Public Council has an interesting staff with a very useful people who in some sense stand above politics and are devoted to the state, do not represent any political party, do not have political ambitions, but have ambitions to develop the country, to create and become an important link ensuring the constant communication between the society and the leadership” External link
